1. What inspired you to run for public office, and what positive changes do you hope to bring to your district/state if elected?

I have been working for more than 20 years to impact lives and change on an individual level. What I realized was that the changes/impact that I was making were too small to truly makea difference. I also noticed that there were many professionals who were afraid to speak up. I decided that I wanted to be loud and initiate and facilitate dialogue that would ignite a movement to change things for the better. I want my children, all children to grow up in a healthier society. I want to empower parents and educators to do what is right for children. I want parents to feel supported when they disagree with the things that are currently happening in schools. I want our borders secure and for people to understand that our current situation at the border is harming our country and tge future of our children.

2. Please identify the top three critical issues facing your state, and how do you envision solving them to benefit the communities in your state?

Parent empowerment in education. I will help parents and educators understand the impact that the recent school decisions are having on our youth.

I will help communities understand the state of mental health with our youth and why it is so critically important to protect our kids, spend time with them and speak up when things aren't right.

I will help people understand the population that is coming over the border. I ama licensed counselor who has assessed hundreds of children. The minority are children who are fleeing dangerous situations. The majority are not in danger or encountered danger during their forced travels to the U.S.
