1. What inspired you to run for public office, and what positive changes do you hope to bring to your district/state if elected?

I’m running because of what we ALL want life to be like in years to come. Our education system should be top ten in the nation, NOT 25 out of 50. We want to walk safely down the street with our loved ones, our children, and teachers to be safe at school. We ALL want to keep MORE of the money we earn instead of being crushed by inflation and giving 10% of our personal income to state and local governments.

Our County became INFECTED with corruption and political games. Our elections are a version of what we see nationally: They the establishment vs We the People. The people are fed up and that includes me. While not "angry," I am extremely resolved.

2. Please identify the top three critical issues facing your state, and how do you envision solving them to benefit the communities in your state?

Education should be in the top ten. Our students must excel in reading, writing, and arithmetic. Literacy breeds competence. We need a full accounting review of DPI and all things education, not an audit. The money recaptured from inefficiency will be reallocated to compensate teachers excelling at educating our children. The best require compensation. The brain drain in North Carolina is severe. No NC student with a high GPA and test scores should have to leave the state for a college scholarship. States like Georgia ensure those types of students have opportunities in the state.

Safety. We must enforce current laws and reject the no-cash bail system destroying liberal-led cities. We must ban sanctuary cities like Charlotte and Asheville in our State. Police should be fully funded and trained to the highest expectations. Schools should be fully staffed with SROs, and We need metal detectors at every entrance of our middle and high schools. It should not be easier to get a weapon into a classroom than it is into a Charlotte Hornets basketball game.

Economy. North Carolina must treat our residents better. We need a homestead exemption that rewards those who stay in their homes for more than three years with a deduction on their tax-accessed value and protections from foreclosure due to lawsuits. Florida and Texas already have something similar. We need to continue moving to a zero percent income tax rate and eliminate harassment taxes like our automobile taxes. This allows us to keep more of our money, which means more cash is entering the economy instead of the government. Education attracts industry. Companies want competent employees. We need jobs so our children do not have to become economic refugees to other parts of the country for lack of opportunity.
