1. What inspired you to run for public office, and what positive changes do you hope to bring to your district/state if elected?

I ran because we have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren that live within 10 minutes of us, we are extremely blessed and would hate for any of them to come to us and say they were moving to a different state for better opportunities.
Unfortunately Illinois is one of the highest taxed states, one of the least friendly for business growth, for these reasons and several others we have once again had another year of population loss. In addition I am a 30 year career Police Officer and the attacks on our law enforcement professionals are causing a lack of qualified candidates which in turn is emboldening criminals who are facing less and less consequences for the crimes they commit. We are also faced with our god given freedoms being taken from us and the continued push to remove parental rights. Lastly, Illinois has become an abortion sanctuary state. Our government is not only subsidizing the abortion they are paying travel and hotel expenses for women to come to Illinois for an abortion. We must protect the unborn.

2. Please identify the top three critical issues facing your state, and how do you envision solving them to benefit the communities in your state?

Illegal immigration and the tax dollars being spent to house, clothe, feed and provide medical care for those that our Governor is openly inviting to come here. I am a sponsor of HB 4187 (Repeal the Trust Act). The Trust Act is what made Illinois a sanctuary state. In addition it stopped law enforcement from communicating with I.C.E. for the efficient removal of illegal aliens who have a deportation order.
Cost of Living: The Governor just proposed an almost 5% increase to this years budget over last years. It is full of new spending that is unsupported. We have to cut spending, we have to stop with new programs. We need to hold our budget flat and pay down our debt.
Crime: We must stop demonizing Police Officers with the legislation that is passed in Springfield. We must support, fund, and protect our law enforcement officers. Most of all we must pass legislation that holds criminals accountable and make it illegal to be a criminal again.
