KEY ISSUES | |
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board? | 1. I will be the only parent board member. I’d give a perspective before public meetings and an inside voice to parents. |
2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue. | 1. No parental input on board - I’ll be the first parent board member |
3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not? | I do. I believe the parents know their children the best and by having a choice create a system of competition that the public school has not transparency in providing. |
4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing? | The parents or legal guardians. |
5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not? | No. I believe racism exists, and is it taught it can be at school, at home, and through social media. However, I don’t believe in systematic racism and I believe we are all given equal opportunities. I believe in equality over equity. |
6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why? | Todays parents are busy. Whether it’s a single parent, grandparents trying to do the work, or those working multiple jobs to make ends meet. We rely on education for so much. What I believe in is teaching the “Golden Rule”. We used to teach this. It is similar and less racially, sexually, and adversely charged than the acronym alphabet our schools teach. I believe we need these programs as supplemental. |
7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected? | Continue offering work after school. |
8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected? | We currently have separate locker rooms. I suggest we keep those in place with no leniency for the gender other than what you are physically born with. |
9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today? | I do believe Title IX is in jeopardy in some of our schools. I believe Title IX Should be left as is. |
10. Do you have any other endorsements? If so, please list them. | Other board members at nearby by schools |
