KEY ISSUES
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board?

My number one concern as a parent of 3 children all enrolled in public school is the progressive agenda being pushed into schools by outside interests who want to destroy history and the way it's taught, patriotism, family values, and American Values. As Texans we are fortunate to have laws that protect our children and parental rights, however too many who are willing to ignore and infringe on these laws. Secondly, as a woman of faith with strong Christian, conservative values I am seeking to save the seat from going to someone who seeks man's approval more than he/she fears the Lord, and I seek to be a fail-safe for our students and teachers.

2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue.

I live in the fastest growing school district in Texas, according to our demographers. We are set to become a "DIstrict of Innovation" which allows our district relief from various Texas statutory requirements. The benefit of becoming a DOI is more local control which I believe is a good thing, however it also presents ample opportunity for outside influence in our childrens education. I will closely scrutinize all proposed policies being included in our DOI Plan and work to keep those in charge of implementing the plan accountable. Second issue is runaway spending due to our growth which needs to be met with fiscal conservatism and I will demand transparent and thorough accounting of all proposed expenditures.

3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not?

Yes, I will always support policy which allows parents to direct the upbringing of their children and their education and limits government control.

4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing?

Parents. Period. Full Stop.

5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not?

Absolutely not. I believe that God created us all in His image, uniquely and on purpose. No country on earth has created more liberty, freedom or opportunity for prosperity fora it's citizens than the United States of America, regardless of their skin color, background, or circumstance.

6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why?

Left to parents to teach - Comprehensive Sex Education is war on children. It teaches them they can change their gender, among a laundry list of other sordid, age-inappropriate concepts. DEI is just another name for CRT. Social Emotional Learning, while seemingly innocuous, is actually a way to teach children that feelings matter more than than anything else, leading them eventually down a road of moral relativism and also a means of data collection via surveys which ask intrusive questions about their personal and family life.

7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected?

Comprehensive Sex Education, DEI, and SEL are nothing but distractions from core subjects. We cannot get our kids back on track educationally when we are spending so much instruction time on SEL, etc. Keeping time-wasting programs out of our schools is one way, but also ensuring that teachers are only required to do what they are hired to do - teach the fundamentals - and not asked to become mental health professionals and waste time on all these extra programs. I believe it's a huge reason why good teachers are leaving the profession.

8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected?

Texas has strong laws on the books that say gender is assigned by what is on your birth certificate. However, the Texas Association of School Boards (who is not a governing body) has already released recommendations to all Texas school boards encouraging them to cater to so-called "inclusive bathroom policies" and districts across the state have already adopted these recommendations as policy, disregarding Texas Law. As a board member I would, with every bone in my body, oppose such policy adoptions.

9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today?

The intent of Title IX is to outlaw sex discrimination in education so that women and girls are treated equally. I think it is important that districts across the state (and country) understand that President Biden's executive order on Title IX is not law and not in effect, although the media would like us to think otherwise. The proposed changes will violate students right to free speech which is protected at all public schools under the First Amendment as well as threaten a litany of other rights including punishing students for their sincerely held religious beliefs. I believe school boards have a chance to get in front of these proposed changes and easing parent concerns by introducing policies on student gender identity as well as a parent's right to be notified if a child is secretly transitioning at school, etc.

10. Do you have any other endorsements? If so, please list them.

No, not at this time.
