KEY ISSUES | |
---|
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board? | 1) clean classic Curriculum without CRT, SEL(E), gender disforia or other ideologies.
2) provide fundamental functionally competent and experienced watchful governance of the district where there is none.
|
---|
2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue. | Lack of transparency in ALL matters. Safety Performance, Curriculum Development, Capital Administration and Project Management
Lack of inclusion of parents and taxpayers
You establish a performance management system with Key Performance Indicators. You use a Vision/Mission/Goals/Objectives/Standards for Professional Interaction. Format. Done all the time in the private sector
You include the folks by having a managed listing of items of interest on the MISD website. You take them in order of highest frequency and “work Shop” them. You avoid the manipulative Delphi method
|
---|
3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not? | Yes. I want this district to be the choice. In order to do that We must Shift from an autocratic bureaucracy to a Principle Centered Servant Leader culture. There are a number of action steps which must be undertaken for this. But it has been done before
|
---|
4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing? | Parents or legal guardians
|
---|
5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not? | Absolutely not. I have read Voodie Bauhmsn’s “ Fault Lines”, studied in detail Robin DeAngelo’s “White Fragility” and reviewed the beliefs of Ibrahim Kendi.
“ White Fragility” is riddled with violations of the scientific method and bad and wrong data. Kendi states that to fix past discrimination we must now discriminate in reverse. There is racism in the world and other prejudices as well. But the notion everything is racist is not supportable. statistically. My family is mixed in two places as are several of my friends.

6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why? | This all has no place in a core curriculum. There is only so much time for learning fundamentals.
All cultural, sexual and religious education is for the home and pastors
McKinney ISD set up a DEI Committee Chair. That individual is now an elementary principle and a committed Social Engineering advocate. While “classical” SEL is in the TEKS it has been extended into divisive ethic teaching riddled with guilt placement and hard core judgments based on uncontrollable human attributes. Your character and behavior should define you not anything to do with ethnicity.

7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected? | 1) fix the teacher flight problem
2) cleanup the curriculum
If you don’t fix #1 you can’t fix much else. Teachers must be included in decisions which impact them. My teacher network tells me several things. We are discounted. We are over worked and doing data mining and other admin support duties. We are afraid. The autocratic bureaucracy is punitive and ruthless. Teachers are often scapegoated to protect the hierarchy. Teachers are not supported when serious discipline problems arise.
The fix for this requires a complete paradigm shift from an autocratic bureaucracy to a Principle Centered Servant Leader based Culture.
Some first steps are using Organizational Development professionals access and survey the teacher climate. Prioritize these concerns. Also, interview the Superintendent along the lines of Principle Centered Servant Leader behaviors. Determine the gaps. Perhaps require that superintendent to attend training like “on Leadership “ at the Levinson Institute or similar. The program would be evaluated by the superintendent and reported to the board. The objective here is to begin the paradigm shift at the senior level. Our current and retiring superintendent has at times specifically been evasive and non transparent. Telling the “prudent truth” This breeds mistrust and fear down in the organization.
In conjunction with instilling/ installing a much more effective leadership culture we must involve the parents in curriculum and planning reviews. Texas has EXUC 11.251 requiring this. However, MISD under the guise of a District of Innovation has screened out explicit parental involvement. Clean up the curriculum and purge non classical items like CRT and SEL(E)
However, given ample opportunity if you can’t change the people you must change the people. Senior leadership must have compensation at risk based on well designed metrics which line up with the district vision and mission. Right now the Vision and Mission are word salads. There are NO measurables. There is more to this management of change but all effected must be participating. It is often done in the private sector. The current BOT has no one who has ever been involved in any way in change management

8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected? | Camera surveillance at all bathroom
entrances as well as smoke detectors within
Severe penalties for any breach. Details in actual operation are left for security experts. Here again parents and teachers and SROs School Resource Officers /law enforcement should be included.
|
---|
9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today? | Yes . I plan to create wise policy decisions that meet the needs of our gender non-conforming student body and that fulfill the essential requirements to "do no harm”More information can be found at ChildParentRights.org
