KEY ISSUES | |
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board? | 1. Get politics/propaganda out of our schools and re-foucs on academics. |
2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue. | 1. Pushing leftist agendas without concern for the kids (majority) who do not subscribe to these ideologies, policies, and politics. |
3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not? | I am undecided. On it's face, it seems like a fantastic idea but I feel like the left will find a way to highjack it and turn it into a nightmare. Also, by linking tax dollars to individual students, that gives the government even more control over our individual children and their lives. I need to investigate it further and research the safeguards put in place around it before I decide either way. |
4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing? | The parent. |
5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not? | No. That's a tool used to create division between the members of our society. I grew up in the 80's and we didn't care about such things. This is just another tactic to further the agendas of the Left. |
6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why? | CSE/DEI/SEL are indoctrination garbage in my opinion. Absolutely not!! No one other than the parent(s) has the right to discuss any of these things with students. Period! |
7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected? | Re-focusing on academics is one of my main reasons for running. If we can cut out CRT/DEI/SEL and related agendas, we can get back to learning. I also want to bring back wood shop, home economics, and other basic skills related classes. Our children are being taught how to function in the system, not to think for themselves and function in the real world. |
8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected? | I live in Illinois so this is fight but a fight I'm willing to take on. We have two such situations happening at our Intermediate and Junior High schools at the current time. Our students are being told that if they are uncomfortable with seeing a transgender student change, they can go to a single use restroom to change. This is absolute insanity!!! |
9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today? | Of course! All students deserve to feel safe at school and receive an education. However, the rules are being twisted to serve the leftist agenda. I work as a special education aide in an Autism classroom and I have a child with ASD. All three of my children have ADHD so I am adequately versed regarding Tile IX. I feel that it is being abused by those who do not need to be using it. I see children with gender issues being given accommodations at school when it is clear that they are milking the system or are in need of psychiatric help vs. accomodations. I had to fight for services for my ASD child so seeing the way things are awarded to certain groups because of politics really lights my pants of fire. As we left an IEP meeting, one of the staff spoke to us off the record and told us we would have to fight and bring full documentation/pay for additional testing because we were the "wrong" demographic and would not receive help easily. |
10. Do you have any other endorsements? If so, please list them. | None yet. I'm waiting to hear back from the 1776 project. I've just recently contacted my local and state GOP committee chairpersons. I'm also in the process of seeking the endorsement from Awake Illinois and Illinois Policy. |
