KEY ISSUES | |
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board? | 1) Curriculum |
2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue. | 1) Board Governance - Library Materials Policy and Instructional Materials Policy needs to be looked at again in order to further safeguard our children and support parental rights. |
3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not? | I do support school choice however the current Texas Legislature needs to be very careful how the government strings with funding are rolled out. We need to make very certain parents have an effective avenue to raise and address concerns inside private and charter schools. In my option, I will support school choice because it will ultimately act to bring further accountability to our public schools. |
4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing? | Parents |
5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not? | No I do not agree with that statement. America has come a very long way in addressing the historical grievances of our nation. I believe in the American dream where opportunities abound in order to succeed regardless of gender, race, or socio economic background. |
6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why? | None should be part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials. Doing so is essentially outside the boundaries of a school district. It is up to parents to teach their children about sex and good solid character traits ultimately instilling their familial moral code into their children which is oftentimes based on religious affiliation. DEI is ultimately placed in our schools to bring on confusion and division creating a chaotic and toxic victimhood environment for our children where they can be easily controlled, manipulated, and indoctrinated. These all work to undermine parents and break down the family unit. |
7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected? | In my opinion it starts with curriculum and therefore "Big Education". My strategy would be to clean up curriculum first ensuring all questionable curriculum is out of our schools which includes CRT and SEL. This alone would free up a lot of class time to re-focus on the basics of education across the board thereby bringing up test scores for all students. Another resource I would want to see used is our greatest resource and that is our teachers. Let's listen to them and not let district administration get in the way of learning inside our classrooms, even if we have to re-address budgeted dollars to do so. Finally, I would heavily limit device use inside the classrooms for teaching purposes. We should not be encouraging screen time for our students. |
8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected? | In Texas we already see the TASB sending out guidelines to school districts which are in direct conflict with private space security. If elected, I would prioritize and have public hearings on this topic so that a district policy can be drafted, presented to the public then voted on. I do not support allowing male born students inside any private area that does not belong to males and vice versa. |
9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today? | Yes, we have to be proactive and remain diligent is this area for protection of our students. |
10. Do you have any other endorsements? If so, please list them. | Kingwood Tea Party, Kendall Baker (Houston ISD VI Trustee & Secretary), Lake Houston Pachyderm Club and numerous Harris County Republican Party Precinct Chairs in the Humble ISD neighborhoods. |
