KEY ISSUES | |
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board? | Parental Choice and Excellence in Education are the top two issues. Parents have primary in their child's education as enshrined in Virginia state law and the Fairfax County School Board has adopted policies undermining parental rights, such as withholding a child's gender identity as early as Kindergarten if the child so wishes. Teachers are not psychologists and gender dysphoria is a medical condition and should be treated as such where the parent should be informed. The state bears the burden of demonstrating a compelling interest which it has failed to do in this case. Excellence in education is the more important issue. In the name of equity, and its intended result of 'equal outcomes,' honors and advanced courses are being removed from offerings. Children are being denied collaborative learning environments to help them reach their full potential, and kids are being dumbed down. |
2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue. | The top issues with the school are its failure to address the pandemic learning loss and provide quality education to our students. During the last school year, our current school board spent less than 3 hours total discussing academics. The immediate focus to address learning loss is to establish private-public partnerships to provide supplemental educational opportunities, remove unnecessary ideological content, and in earlier grades (k-3), and additional teacher to reduce the student to teacher ratio (a practice at the Nysmith School for the Gifted, one of the worlds top schools), and have teachers specialist in the subject they teach, instead of teaching all subjects (where the students change classes, another Nysmith practice). |
3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not? | I passionately support school choice, as do minority communities. |
4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing? | The parent.. |
5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not? | No. People are racist, not America. CRT is the legitimization of racism and its pedagogy should not be implemented in school.s |
6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why? | Comprehensive Sex Education is the subversion of sexuality education whose original purpose was to prevent the spread of STDs and teenage pregnancy. DEI has turned into harmful reverse discrimination and SEL has failed to demonstrate a positive return on investment. These concepts should not be a part of an education curriculum nor a part of supplemental materials. None of these concepts would survive if they were only offered as discusson material in afterschool clubs. This material is in the domain that is best left to parents. |
7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected? | I would address this by collecting data on student growth, as well as proficiency, in student classrooms. This practice would enable the identification of high-performing teachers as well as low-performing ones. |
8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected? | These spaces would remain safe for girls by only allowing children to use bathrooms and locker rooms to their assigned gender at birth. True gender dysphoria, which is less than 1% of the population, which has a genuine diagnosis and has ADA protections (per Williams v Kinkaid), would be exempt. Should there be a repeal of Williams v Kinkaid, I would support a third bathroom option for such children. |
9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today? | Yes. Title IX is in jeopardy in public education. The National Federation of High School Sports delegates the issue of biological males competing in women's sports to state bodies, which, in turn, rely on the judgment of individual school principals to make such allowances. In these cases, males are not tested for testosterone levels, or gender dysphoria, nor are they required to be at a certain stage of transition. Title IX was intended to protect girls and women and we should not allow biological males into this pace. |
10. Do you have any other endorsements? If so, please list them. | Hispanics For STEM. |
