KEY ISSUES
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board?

Im running because I want to serve. I love our community, it’s a great place to live and raise a family and work. I'm running because I want all the kids in the school district, including my two, to have the same great opportunities available and values instilled that I did 20 years ago when I was growing up here in Brenham.

2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue.

Money management and maintenance are two big issues I see the school district has.  I want to dive into figuring out why things are not being addressed and left to get worse, and where the money is going. I also would like to work on getting our scores up. The district report card shows we have room for improvement and I would like to see more students mastering reading, writing, math science and history. Mastering the basics needs to be the focus, and the kids scores will get better if we support our teachers.

3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not?

Yes if done correctly. All parents should have the ability to choose what school their kids go to and the money should follow.

4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing?

The parents.

5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not?

No. We are the greatest and most free country out there. Anyone can thrive and get ahead regardless of race.

6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why?

It’s up to parents to teach if they choose to. Schools need to focus on the basics. Period.

7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected?

I believe if we push our students and teach them more than needed and go above and beyond the standards, the test will become easier and easier. This goes back to supporting our teachers and cultivating a winning mindset.

8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected?

If this is referring to bathrooms then it is simple. Biological girls are to be in girls bathrooms. Biological boys are to be in boys bathrooms. This is black and white.

9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today?

Yes of course it is. When boys with mental health issues are given preferential treatment and allowed to pretend to be girls that is discrimination.
