KEY ISSUES | |
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board? | I want to set up a framework to raise test scores |
2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue. | They have tried to allow transgender agenda into the school settings. I attend most meetings so saw this proposed policy the first time it was on the agenda and spoke out about it. I will hold teachers accountable to the “neutral” classroom policy that is already in place. I will fight to create policy to keep the transgender agenda out of the schools. The board is non responsive to parents. Several times I have commented at meetings for sent emails, along with many other parents and we rarely get any acknowledgment or response. I want parents to feel welcome and heard at the meetings and when they reach out. I will respond to their messages, and I will greet them in the lobby before meetings. I want them to know their involvement is needed and appreciated. |
3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not? | Yes. I know not all children are alike and learn in the same way. There needs to be more choices to help children reach their potential. Parents also need a choice when schools are allowing county and family hating agendas into the schools. |
4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing? | The parents, hopefully guided by God. Parents need to be active in seeking the best education and in the protection of their children’s hearts, minds and bodies. |
5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not? | Absolutely NOT. Often same people in history being accused as racist, are the ones who fought hard for equal rights. Every country has things it did wrong, but America has worked hard to overcome the wrong way some people were treated early on. In America people of all colors have many chances and opportunities to better themselves and their families. |
6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why? | All of these areas are garbage. If a parent wishes to discuss these things with their children it should be done at home. Any curriculum that teaches disregard for the family, country, and a family’s religious beliefs should be stopped. DEI promotes racism by only focusing on a person’s race. I love how Martin Luther King Jr. said, "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." Children should not be taught that they are bad or racist just because of their gender or skin color. Sex education should be left to the parents, except maybe basic biology. |
7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected? | I first want to look at the history of the the achievement levels in our district. I want to see what curriculum or things were being done during the higher years. I want to evaluate the curriculums being used. I want quality over quantity. My daughter’s middle school makes the kids take two periods of ELA and two periods of math everyday regardless of test scores. They only get one elective. They have lessened physical education and the arts, but still see a decline in scores. I want to be sure the students are getting high quality instruction, not a lot of mediocre instruction. |
8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected? | I want to first be sure all schools are having children use facilities of their biological sex. I want to be sure all schools have adults in charge who will listen then enforce the policy if students are disregarding it. I want to be sure coaches are not exempt from the rule. No male coach should ever be in a female locker room. Pep talks can happen elsewhere. I also want a way for girls to share their concerns or if something happens to them, where they will be heard and cared for. |
9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today? | Yes. It is being used to help push the trans agenda instead of providing equal opportunities. It should not be used as a weapon, particularly against while, male, heterosexual Christians. |
10. Do you have any other endorsements? If so, please list them. | Not yet |
