KEY ISSUES | |
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board? | The top 2 reasons I am running for school board is because Caldwell parents have been silenced and they need a voice; also because the children deserve better education that will eventually lead to different opportunities in their lives. |
2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue. | The top 2 issues with my school board are they don't follow policy or procedure which then trickles down to administration and teachers and they don't actually care about the children's success. I will address each of these issues by demanding a more productive and procedural meeting and/or policy making and I will also be more present at the schools and allow the teachers and students know that the school board does exist and are present- not just on meetings to hire/fire/discipline. The invisible policy makers must go. |
3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not? | I do support school choice because it allows parents to actually seek out schools that will benefit their child(ren) instead of forcing them in a school that is actually disenfranchising their futures. |
4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing? | The ultimate authority in a child's education and wellbeing should be the parents. I do believe that if we got back to the mentality of "parents are the stakeholders" then we wouldn't be needing all of these governmental services and extra school counselors in the school buildings. We could cut a lot of waste. |
5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not? | No way do I agree with the idea that America is inherently racist because racism comes from a lack of education, or to be frank- ignorance, and if we have educated people in this country, which we do, then we can't be racist. Racism can be overcome by helping the uneducated learn about the opposite of racism and that America is beautiful and not full of hate- even in the hate filled society we are exposed to today. But I do not believe that racism is the American way. |
6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why? | No, CSE, DEI, CRT, SEL, BHE should not be part of public education curriculum. If a parent wants to teach their kids about these items, they can do so by homeschooling and teaching their children themselves. I don't agree with anyone teaching it but then again parents have the right, not the school. Once the schools realize that they aren't the parent or guardian, we could get rid of all of this junk in the district. |
7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected? | Our school district (Caldwell School District #132) has some of the lowest scores for graduates around. The district needs to fix that but it isn't going to be fixed under the current board. They don't care now and the won't care later. It definitely is a top priority for these students to start learning instead of being taught. There is a big difference between those. One is something they learn on their own, the other is something that someone has showed/told them how to do it. |
8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected? | If elected, I will advocate for the bathrooms and locker rooms to remain individual according to biological sex. I would support safety by promoting respect toward all students and expect all students to have respect for things that are different. But that doesn't mean we allow boys to escape the boys bathrooms or changing rooms and vice versa for the girls. I think if we give kids positive environments then any confusion on who or what they are or want to be will dissipate in time. |
9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today? | I do believe Title IX is in jeopardy. There is too much chaos and confusion now. We must get back to the basics of biology and that, I believe, would help diminish the gender dysphoria issues. |
10. Do you have any other endorsements? If so, please list them. | I will be receiving endorsements from state Senator Chris Trakel, of Caldwell, and have unofficially gotten the support of Caldwell city council candidate- Scott Tilmant. I do know there are a few more coming in the next month. |
