KEY ISSUES
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board?

To support families/ protect children
Continue academic focus

2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue.

The current School Board is in alignment with the national LBGTQ+ agenda. They have not been responsive to parents and only because a state law was passed have they stepped back a bit. I want parents involved in the education of their children and for them to be involved in decisions affecting their children.

I also see the public school attendance is declining, since there are choices now, and want to find ways to offer families choices within the public school system that can help maintain enrollment to benefit all students.

3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not?

Yes I do support school choice. Our tax dollars toward education are our investments in the future. The teachers Union should not have the final say in what our children learn. When there are choices the strongest program gets the dollars. It’s a way to keep all schools competitive and give parents a voice in what their children are exposed to.

4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing?

Parents

5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not?

No. If we were inherently racist so many people from other countries would not be working so hard to get to a racist country. Those that are being discriminated against would be working hard to leave. I certainly don’t see any great flight of people leaving. In America, when you keep your eyes on what you want, instead of what you don’t have, you will have a good chance of achieving your goals.

6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why?

That is a lot to answer. I believe we can best serve all students by helping them achieve high academic goals. Where there are social/mental disorders, (excluding disabilities) that is best handled by the professionals. DEI and SEL are agendas that promote victimization and are not really good for young people. Treating all equally, teaching students to care for others as you do yourself, and equipping the mind with critical thinking skills and accurate information is the best way to give all students the best opportunity for life.

7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected?

Give teachers the freedom to teach without social agendas causing so much distraction. Quit experimenting with curriculum and stay on the proven track of a rigorous academic program and high expectations. Using the lowest common denominator to normalize behavior is not good and does not serve our students well. We should raise students up to an high expectation and not affirm the weakest as the standard.

8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected?

I would work hard to keep male and female locker rooms and bathroom separate. I do not oppose the option of offering some unisex as that can help with disabled students as they require extra assistance.

9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today?

Everything is in jeopardy when there are no set standards.
