KEY ISSUES
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board?

When I ran the first time, it was because of my granddaughters and their proximity to the school district where I live. The school district where they live is full of failing schools and has a board with a dysfunctional, proLGBTQ belief system. I wanted to have a say in where my granddaughters go to school and that’s why I ran last time and that reason hasn’t changed.
The second reason I ran was big picture. As conservative Christian Americans, we have abdicated our responsibility to educate our kids to districts which may or not align with our beliefs. To truly insure we have a say in the direction our children’s education goes, we can place them in public, private, or charter schools or we can homeschool them. The majority choose public schools so I believe we need to have true fighters in those arenas and that’s why I am here.

2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue.

The district I currently serve believes in parent’s right to choose and a quality education. The largest issues I believe are literacy and retaining quality teachers.
I have been working with the superintendent of curriculum to increase our literacy rates. I have seen the research that indicates that phonics, not site words, are the best way to teach children to read. As a member of the School board association, I will be bringing this to the state level for an advocacy issue.
As for retaining quality teachers, our district does a good job on promoting from within and utilizing merit based bonuses over blanket stipends. Additionally, if parents raise the issue of problem teachers, I am immediately engaged with the superintendent to address the issues.

3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not?

Absolutely! I have been an advocate for school choice since before getting elected and even more so now. Parents are the best gauge of what their child needs educationally and we need to provide them with the most options.

4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing?

Parents.

5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not?

Absolutely not! If we look at true American history, we see that even the founders of this country while they may have owned slaves, were the first abolitionists. They fought and many died for to remove the scourge of slavery from the planet. From our nation’s founding the Bible has been the cornerstone of beliefs and equality as humans in God’s eyes is a bedrock belief. We need to see each other as God sees us, through our hearts.

6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why?

Comprehensive Sex Education has no place in public education! It is detrimental to the natural growth and developmental cycle of children and anyone who promotes it should be incarcerated, compelled to register as a sex offender, and never be able to work around children again.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the way it’s currently being utilized and promoted in schools around the country also has no place as it seeks to divide students based on the color of their skin and not the content of their character.
Lastly, Social Emotional Learning, (SEL) has been taught by parents, churches, and the community for millennia. The recent issue with them is the corruption of the programs which are being used. There are many of those and few of the good programs. If an SEL is reviewed and determined to be aligned with a secular or perverted worldview, I would vehemently come out against it. If a program is reviewed by parents and determined to be a good quality and aligned with a biblical worldview, then I would support it. Additionally, the program would have to support the values parents are teaching in their homes i.e. integrity, honesty, fidelity, hard work etc.
I was given a front fro seat as a board member to these programs at the state level.

7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected?

Our school district is in the forefront of addressing these issues. I will continue to advocate for increasing abilities and literacy across all of these areas.

8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected?

I will not vote for or endorse any change of rules that would allow biological men into the womens changing areas or bathrooms. That is rife with the potential for danger for our biological female students.

9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today?

Yes, as an ardent believer in protecting womens sports, as school board members, we are in a position to push back against the federal overreach that threatens our girls.

10. Do you have any other endorsements? If so, please list them.

This is my first application for this cycle.
