KEY ISSUES
1. Provide the top 2 reasons why you want to run for school board?

1. The incumbent I'm running against has been on the board for 24 years. She constantly votes against parental rights and does what district unions tell her to do.
2. SVUSD board is not transparent with public funds. They received over $13M from new home purchases to build an elementary school for three developments. The board sold the property and spent the $13M plus monies collected from the property sale for other purposes. This was done without allowing any public comment. Additionally, the public has been requesting for over a year that the board resume airing school board meetings and posting recordings on the district website. Requests are ignored. It's a clear violation of the Brown Act and it discriminates against people with disabilities unable to attend in person.

2. Name the top 2 issues with your current school board or district and how you will address each issue.

1. Parents/Guardians and students voices are not being listened to. I would place a hold on all appointed committee members including but not limited to after school clubs, library, and curriculum. I would open positions up to all parents, grandparents, and taxpayers to apply. There should be an equal balance of committee members, not just members appointed by board members beholden to unions. I would also allow the public to speak during public comment AND on agenda items.
2. The current board passes policies without public comment. Additionally, they pass policies and never inform parents/guardians or the public. Most recently they passed a policy to allow boys to shower in girls locker rooms, compete in girls sports and to expel a kindergartner for using the wrong pronoun. I would write a number of new policies that would require 30 days for public comment on proposed policies that could impact the wellbeing of a child. Policies are NOT laws. Even if I'm the lone voice on the board, it would be my right to publicly state parent's concerns and why I disagree with the proposed policy.

3. Do you support school choice? Why or why not?

Yes. The district denies all charter school applications. Parents should have a choice of which school best meets the needs of their child.

4. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing?

Parents/Guardians

5. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not?

No. America welcomes people from all walks of life who come here legally. America is more divided now than ever before. However, I believe this is due to recent and current elected officials creating it. We can and will be united again.

6. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why?

This is a part of Marxism and should not be taught in schools.

7. With declining academic achievement in reading, writing, math, and science in schools across the nation, how would you address these issues if elected?

1. I would link district pay raises based on student performance. There must be quantifiable results.
2. I would limit only the American and State flags be allowed on campus. This will help minimize student distractions.
3. I would reinstate homework.

8. Safety is a major concern for most families, how would you support and encourage safety measures for girls in their private spaces, if elected?

Yes, safety is a big concern of mine. First, I'm a member of Parents Against School Shootings (P.A.S.S.). I speak at various school board meetings, meet with elected officials regarding safety and funding. Secondly, it's vital for students to be and feel safe at school. They shouldn't be sexualized when they should be receiving a quality education of math, reading, history, etc. Sexualizing children doesn't prepare them for good paying jobs, responsibilities, and being responsible adults.

9. Do you believe Title IX is in jeopardy in our public education system today?

Yes. This administration in Washington, D.C. is not only putting female students in harms way but it also denies them the opportunities to compete in sports for college scholarships.

10. Do you have any other endorsements? If so, please list them.

No, you will me my first 🙂
