KEY ISSUES | |
1. What are your top 2 reasons for running for library board? | To provide a safe environment for kids and their educational needs. Kids should not be exposed to some of the books that they are exposed to today in our libraries. No library should host a drag queen event for kids |
2. How important is classic literature to education? | Extremely important it is loaded with history. They are classics for a reason they have withstood the test of time. |
3. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing? | The parents/guardian |
4. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not? | Absolutely not, because it is not. Racism is taught and they are trying to teach racism to our kids in school. |
5. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why | No, this is an issue for the parents and their kids. |
6. Do you believe drag queen story time is important to the educational experience of children? | Absolutely NOT |
7. Do you think highlighting authors based on nationality is beneficial to readers? | If readers are looking for a specific author based upon his or her nationality they should have the ability to find that author. I do not think a specific author should be pushed just based on nationality. |
8. What are your thoughts on books having similar ratings as movies? | I think this is an option that should be considered to make books are available to age appropriate kids. |
9. With pressure to have “inclusive” reading material for children, how will you ensure that the books in your district library are within traditional age-appropriate standards? | Libraries need to be reorganized to ensure that the younger kids do not have access to inappropriate books without parental consent. |
10. Are you endorsed by other organizations? If so, which ones? | Homer Township Republican Organization, Homer Forward, Black Caucus and hoping Moms for America. F |
