KEY ISSUES | |
1. What are your top 2 reasons for running for library board? | I would like the pornographic material labeled/flagged and separated to 18 and older. |
2. How important is classic literature to education? | Very important!! |
3. Who do you think is the ultimate authority in a child’s education and wellbeing? | Their parents Absolutely |
4. Do you agree with the statement “America is inherently racist”? Why or why not? | Absolutely NOT! I think it's a convenient push to separate us. I believe there's a lot more love and natural tolerance of others differences than we're being "told" there is. We are AMERICANS. |
5. What are your thoughts on “Comprehensive Sex Education”, “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”, and “Social Emotional Learning”? Should these be a part of our public education curriculum or supplemental learning materials or left to parents to teach and why | Absolutely NOT! I think schools need to stick to reading, writing and arithmetic. I'd like to add Understanding our Constitution, true history and real American Government. Children should also learn about money management, credit, mortgages, investments, scammers, propaganda and other real life skills. |
6. Do you believe drag queen story time is important to the educational experience of children? | Not for a second. These men are ADULT entertainers. There's nothing a child can learn from a man dressed as a woman that is anything worth knowing. |
7. Do you think highlighting authors based on nationality is beneficial to readers? | No. |
8. What are your thoughts on books having similar ratings as movies? | I think it's absolutely NECESSARY |
9. With pressure to have “inclusive” reading material for children, how will you ensure that the books in your district library are within traditional age-appropriate standards? | Ideally, anything that has naked pictures (even cartoons/drawings) should be flagged and put in an adult section. Anything that has sexual encounters especially with descriptions, should be flagged 18 and over. Any book with sexual instruction should be flagged into an 18 and older section. When I say "flagged" I mean, if they are to keep the self checkouts, the bar codes should not allow these to be self checked out. Patron has to check out at the desk and I'd if they're labeled mature. |
10. Are you endorsed by other organizations? If so, which ones? | We the Parents of Illinois |
