KEY ISSUES | |
1. Provide the top 2 reason why you want to run for office. | I want to continue fighting for freedom and liberty focused legislation in the State House as I have for the last 4 years. |
2. Name the top 2 issues in your county, state, or federal district that you wish to address and how? | Protecting traditional, conservative values including pro-life, pro-second amendment and protecting our kids from Leftist indoctrination. |
3. Do you support defunding the police? | NO. I support FUNDING the police. |
4. What are your thoughts on “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”? Should this be implemented as training for county/city/federal employees? Why or why not? | DEI should stand for discriminative, exclusionary and inequitable. It has no place in our government, schools or businesses. I voted firmly in favor of legislation prohibiting state taxpayer dollars from going towards DEI programs in government. |
5. With growing pressure to accommodate various lifestyles/identities how would you manage to keep your city/town safe and family friendly? | Branson, and the 156th District, are the belt buckle of the Bible belt. I have worked diligently over the last 4 years sponsoring legislation to protect our values and working to help elect local leaders who will do the same. I sponsored the Save Women's Sports Act, co-sponsored the SAFE Act to stop transgender drugs from hurting our kids and have worked to prohibit "drag queen story hours" at local libraries across the state. I am the champion for our conservative values in the State Capitol. |
6. Do you think involving residents in decision making in your city/town is important? Why or not? | YES. We serve the people, not the other way around. I have an open door policy at the Capitol, and try to get citizen input regularly on legislation being discussed in the Capitol. Additionally, I have supported and endorsed local candidates who have made municipal government more transparent and accountable to the people. |
7. If you received a $1 million grant to use for the city/town/county any way you wanted, what would you do with it and why? | In Branson, affordable housing is extremely important. I think that would be a proper way to use this funding, but first I would ask the constituents their thoughts on how the funding should be used. |
8. What is your opinion on sanctuary cities/autonomous zones within your city/town? | I am firmly against sanctuary cities/autonomous zones in not only my district, but our state and country. I have supported, and will do so again in the future, legislation banning sanctuary cities in Missouri. |
9. What are your thoughts on mandating the closure of privately owned businesses due to public health concerns aside from code violations? | I was the loudest and most forceful voice against mask mandates and business closures in Branson during COVID. I was at every meeting fighting for the people, and continued to fight once I got into the House by sponsoring legislation to prohibit mandates regarding business closures, mask mandates and vaccine mandates. This past session, I sponsored the Saving Missouri Small Business Act which would require cities to suspend any property tax payments if they close businesses. This bill makes cities think long and hard about business shutdowns because they will lose revenue. |
10. Who is the ultimate authority over the health and safety of the people in your city/town? | The people themselves should be able to police themselves and determine what actions they need to take to protect their own health and safety. |
11. Are you endorsed by other organizations? If so, which ones? | Concerned Women for America |
12. Do you support making laws to protect life keeping in mind there are many views on what this means? | Yes |
