KEY ISSUES
1. Provide the top 2 reason why you want to run for office.

The first and primary reason is that I want to bring this office back to the people. I believe far too often, elected officials forget that their purpose and responsibility is accountability to the very people that voted them in and I want to restore faith into this position by bringing it back to the residents of District 2. The second reason is that I’ve devoted my professional life to the service of others and the next step for me and where I can have a greater impact is serving in this capacity as an elected official.

2. Name the top 2 issues in your county, state, or federal district that you wish to address and how?

Illegal immigration and exponential growth are the 2 biggest issues our district (and others as well) is facing. Illegal immigration is a serious problem created by our federal and state administration and it’s overwhelming our school system, hospitals and urgent care centers, and our economic stability. I fully intend to work with the other commissioners to hold Denver, the state of Colorado and the Biden administration accountable for the havoc that this is wreaking in our county. Further, I will advocate for and work to re-instate ICE and Border Patrol to deport those who are here illegally.

Exponential growth is outpacing our infrastructure and there are serious and valid concerns about emergency services, water, roads/highways, access to medical care, fire safety and mitigation, etc being able to keep up with the number of homes and those occupying them, specifically in our district. If elected, I will work to slow the growth to a responsible rate, ensuring adequate and sustainable resources and sufficient infrastructure can scale with it. I will solicit the feedback of the existing residents in these areas of development and listen with concern to their genuine grievances and work to research and problem solve with my constituents.

3. Do you support defunding the police?

Absolutely not. I, in no way shape or form, support defunding the police. As a current law enforcement officer, I know firsthand the devastation that will reign down on communities where law enforcement is stripped away, or defunded. On the contrary, I support a bigger law enforcement workforce and investing in recruiting and retention of our officers.

4. What are your thoughts on “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”? Should this be implemented as training for county/city/federal employees? Why or why not?

I do not support DEI training programs. Studies have shown that there is no direct correlation between positive performance in an organization and their DEI statistics. In fact, it can leave employees feeling even more animosity and resentment toward other groups. We should be hiring, training, investing in and retaining staff who are the most qualified, of the highest caliber, work the hardest, and have the best performance related outcomes, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation etc. It simply should be irrelevant and it is not the best use of our time or resources to implement any such training program.

5. With growing pressure to accommodate various lifestyles/identities how would you manage to keep your city/town safe and family friendly?

As a constitutional conservative, it is important to respect the civil rights of all individuals. However, I will work with local school boards to keep social agendas and non-academic curriculum out of our school systems. I will further work alongside with our DA’s office, our Sheriffs office, Police department, and other Law Enforcement agencies in not only bolstering the law enforcement workforce, but also increasing our law enforcements presence within our communities in efforts to minimize crime and improve community relations through community policing. Through these efforts we can seek to bring justice to not only victims of property related crimes but also victims of violent crimes, pedophilia, sex trafficking and so forth holding these criminals accountable to the existing laws and for their actions.

6. Do you think involving residents in decision making in your city/town is important? Why or not?

Absolutely, involving the residents of a county or district is vital to making informed decisions that wholly represent the tax-paying occupants of that area, as they are ultimately the ones impacted by those decisions.

7. If you received a $1 million grant to use for the city/town/county any way you wanted, what would you do with it and why?

I would invest it in more emergency services to combat and deter criminal activity and lower response times for medical and other emergencies (fire, traffic accidents, etc). This need is quite literally a matter of life and death.

8. What is your opinion on sanctuary cities/autonomous zones within your city/town?

We are not a sanctuary county!! We cannot allow this to happen/continue. I was born and raised in El Paso Texas and have witnessed firsthand the crime, filth and economic drain that besieges a region when loose or non-existent immigration laws are passed. We have to put a stop to this and undo the damage already done.

9. What are your thoughts on mandating the closure of privately owned businesses due to public health concerns aside from code violations?

I think it’s another form of government overreach and we are already over-regulated.

10. Who is the ultimate authority over the health and safety of the people in your city/town?

While there are larger entities that oversee the health and safety of the general populus (ie: El Paso County Health Department and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment), an individual has the ultimate authority over his or her own health and safety.

11. Are you endorsed by other organizations? If so, which ones?

El Paso County Republican Strategy Forum, Colorado For Life

12. Do you support making laws to protect life keeping in mind there are many views on what this means?Yes
