KEY ISSUES
1. Provide the top 2 reason why you want to run for office.

To be a voice of the city residence on the council and to use my background and experience in construction and business to help rein in our out of control growth and spending.

2. Name the top 2 issues in your county, state, or federal district that you wish to address and how?

Spending: Currently the city relies heavily on property tax to fund wants and not needs. The city has under funded our police and fire for years all while spending money on un-needed programs that benefit very few.
Growth: The city is approving massive multi-unit properties, that go against the long term plan, and ignore the input of the residence that are concerned with the rapid growth. I believe they are driven by the desire of more properties to tax and the push for "15min cities". The city has real issues with current infrastructure and water supply, that the current council seams to be assuming will solve themselves with more development.

3. Do you support defunding the police?

No. Currently Caldwell has one of the lowest paid police forces in the area, while being at minimum manning! I want to work to cut spending in the non-essential areas of the city and move that to increase both our police and fire staffing. With the massive growth that the city is facing, our emergency services, which are a need and not a want, will be overwhelmed quickly.

4. What are your thoughts on “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”? Should this be implemented as training for county/city/federal employees? Why or why not?

DEI is nothing more than a vailed way to implement racisms and division in people. I want the best people for the job, period. I don't care who they are, where they come from or what their color, creed or "identity" is. If they are the best for the job, they should be hired. Work is a place for work, not social indoctrination.

5. With growing pressure to accommodate various lifestyles/identities how would you manage to keep your city/town safe and family friendly?

The constitution protects not only the speech we don't like but also the associations that people have. With that being said, we also have public decency laws, public exposure laws and child protection laws that should be upheld and enforced. You can say or do whatever you want, even if I don't like or agree with it, but if it crosses the line, stated in law, then you should be punished to the extent of the law. This includes verbal, written and visual material.

6. Do you think involving residents in decision making in your city/town is important? Why or not?

Yes, the residence of our city are the ones that must live with, and pay for, the decisions the city makes. Their voice should be the most important. And when a decision is made, the residence should not only be told what the decision was but also the "why" behind the decision. Many times things are done for a multitude of reasons, and if the residence are informed why it was done, they then have a better understanding of what the city is doing.

7. If you received a $1 million grant to use for the city/town/county any way you wanted, what would you do with it and why?

My first question would be "what are the strings and is this a one time grant or a continuing grant?" If there were no strings and it was a one time grant I would use it offset the residence taxes. I say this because the city is in need of major projects for our emergency services (new fire stations, a police sub-station and additional manning). $1mil doesn't even begin to put a dent in any of those issues. If it was a continuing grant, with no strings, I would put it into staffing for the police, which is where we are the most undermanned.

8. What is your opinion on sanctuary cities/autonomous zones within your city/town?

No city should be sanctuary anything! The cities job is to provide the needed common amenities, Police, Fire and infrastructure, and to protect the rights of citizens. I am a small government person and anything beyond that is overreach. Autonomous zones are unconstitutional and a anarchist creation.

9. What are your thoughts on mandating the closure of privately owned businesses due to public health concerns aside from code violations?

Outside of specifically created codes, that are very narrow in scope and supported by voted on State law, cities should have no involvement in how businesses run.

10. Who is the ultimate authority over the health and safety of the people in your city/town?

The people! I believe individuals are the ultimate authority over themselves and their safety.

11. Are you endorsed by other organizations? If so, which ones?

No other "organizations" have endorsed me yet, but I am endorsed by my State Senator.
