KEY ISSUES | |
1. Provide the top 2 reason why you want to run for office. | 1. I want a safer community for my family. As a police sergeant, I see the horror of violence in the county I grew up in and I want to change it. 2. I want to do my part to stop Marxist ideology that is creeping into our society. As a Christian conservative leader and former pastor, I will work to get other like-minded conservatives elected to change Harris County. If Harris County falls then Texas falls. If Texas falls, then the nation will fall as well. |
2. Name the top 2 issues in your county, state, or federal district that you wish to address and how? | 1. More officers and corrections staff are needed NOW. I will work with Governor Abbott to secure state funding and state DPS assistance as well as free grant monies that don’t have strings attached. 2. Crush violent crime. I will file federal weapons charges on violent and repeat offenders. Some of these violent offenders are let out on PR bonds or given reduced sentences from liberal judges. I will bypass them with federal charges that will put those same offenders in federal prison for up to 25 years. |
3. Do you support defunding the police? | Absolutely not. That’s Marxists ideology. |
4. What are your thoughts on “Diversity Equity and Inclusion”? Should this be implemented as training for county/city/federal employees? Why or why not? | Again, this is Marxists ideology and I will not tolerate it. This teaches reverse racism and prejudice. |
5. With growing pressure to accommodate various lifestyles/identities how would you manage to keep your city/town safe and family friendly? | I love all people but I don’t have to agree with their lifestyle. As sheriff, I have an oath to protect the rights of ALL including families that do not share alternative lifestyle ideals. |
6. Do you think involving residents in decision making in your city/town is important? Why or not? | On matters of civic engagement yes. There are some matters that require expertise and information that the public is not privy to. I am a firm believer in community policing as a matter of friendly community engagement and goodwill. |
7. If you received a $1 million grant to use for the city/town/county any way you wanted, what would you do with it and why? | Hire more officers! Empirical research and experts such as Bill Bratton (former NYPD Commissioner who cleaned up NYC) agree that more officers are the primary way to reduce crime. |
8. What is your opinion on sanctuary cities/autonomous zones within your city/town? | They are unconstitutional and I will not recognize such measures or proclamations. |
9. What are your thoughts on mandating the closure of privately owned businesses due to public health concerns aside from code violations? | Totally unconstitutional. Not only will I not enforce such mandates, I will protect and defend businesses that choose to exercise their rights to stay open. |
10. Who is the ultimate authority over the health and safety of the people in your city/town? | God, the Constitution, and Texas Constitution. |
11. Are you endorsed by other organizations? If so, which ones? | No you’re the first endorsement I have applied for. |
